My Model T?? Not to be...

When Rex tried to convince me I should buy this Model T, I unwisely drug my feet about one day and he already "fell in love" with it! He had been telling me about this little Model T pickup, insisting we should go buy it. The Ruckstell rear axle was supposed to be worth close to the asking price. We put off going to look at the truck and were lucky it was still there when we did go!

Rex's T

The Model T was in an attached garage with a hoard of cats and Model T parts, which turned out to be a real barn like treasure. It was in rural Ellsworth County. The truck had been built by an elderly gentleman, of the grandfatherly type. It runs and drives great, had a few bruises to show its age, but was complete and had we only known, we could have drove it home!

Rex bought the little pickup and the next day we went back to get it. It is equipped with a spark plug whistle and an exhaust whistle. If you want some simple entertainment for a 11 year old boy, just give him a ride in this little cutie and show him how the whistles work. There will not be another peaceful mile. I have been lucky enough to have driven the pickup a few times, once in a parade, what a riot! Thanks Rex for the education and all the fun!
